The iPhone XR also has a portrait mode and blurs backgrounds, but it uses software to do this artificially, so you can still expect portrait shots to look better on an iPhone X. Therefore, if you’re trying to decide between the iPhone X vs XR and need the model with better camera performance, you should probably buy a used & refurbished iPhone X!
