Philips SHC5200/10 wireless Headphones - Black

The headphones arrived quickly and very well packaged. But it was missing the 2 AAA rechargeable NiMh batteries, specific for Philips headphones, the instructions and the antenna tube. I had to buy ordinary AAA rechargeable NiMh batteries. With these batteries, the headphones worked very well, but the green charge indicator on the base did not light up because they were not charging. As I'm an electronics engineer, I tested the charger in the base, which worked correctly. So I took the helmet apart on the battery side, to try and work out what was wrong. I looked for about 20 hours, because I didn't understand what the 3rd contact on the body of each battery was for, before realising that the insulation of the 2 batteries had to be cut back over about 8 mm, so that these 2 contacts were connected to at least the batteries, it's via these 2 contacts that the batteries recharge. I made the change on the 2 batteries, which are now charging correctly. The green light comes on during charging and then goes off when charging is complete. The headphones now work perfectly. Shame about the 20 hours lost!

I think it will be fine, but fitting at Christmas is free 🎁🌲. Sincerely
