The box belonged to the handset but the instruction leaflet was for a Huawei Ascend. Fortunately I can get all the info I need off the Huawei site. The Huawei operating system is called EMUI, their alternative to Android. However the versions available are almost random. The P Smart 2019 and 2021 were updated to V12, the 2020 lingers at V9 with no plans (or explanation) to any upgrade. Cloning did go well as only 5 out of 121 apps transferred. Also none of the Huawei apps were on the phone and I had to search for them online. Then had to install all the apps that did not clone. It took 3 days! Huawei ID is not appearing in the settings menu though it is present (as a search finds it) - according to Huawei it is a feature of this model (ie they have no idea why it is not there). The phone works fine now its set up and has plenty of memory. The problems are caused by Huawei cavalier attitude to support of their handsets (ask them 2 questions and get half an answer to just one, very frustrating)
