iPhone X vs iPhone 12 Pro Max Comparison

Does the iPhone X rival the newer iPhone 12 Pro Max?

Looking for a new phone? It’s always a tough choice between cost, tech, cameras, and size and it can feel overwhelming.  Let’s see how these two phones shape up to help you make your choice.

iPhone X – the first OLED edge-to-edge screen and still going strong

The iPhone X has been called the world’s most popular mobile phone on more than one occasion and it’s justly deserved. It has the first ever edge-to-edge OLED screen (5.8 inches), introduced Face ID, and was fitted with better cameras - 2 x 12 MP with 2 x optical zoom at the rear and 7 MP at the front with HD video too. The iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with exactly the same screen, right down to 458 pixels per inch, but it’s bigger at 6.7 inches. This means you have a bigger phone to carry, and it’s also a much heavier 52 g. For some people, the iPhone X is quite big enough as they prefer the slightly smaller, narrower size which gives them a better grip.

iPhone 12 Pro Max – faster and longer lasting

Other than the size, we haven’t seen many differences so far, but in terms of tech, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has plenty to offer. It has a faster A14 bionic processor, compared to the A11 on the iPhone X and it also has a much longer battery life, with average use you’ll get 35 hours or so, that’s 13 hours more than the iPhone X. It also has twice the memory of the iPhone X with 6 GB compared to 3 GB and double the camera lenses too. It has 4 X 12 MP rear cameras with 2.5 X optical zoom and a 7 MP front camera with 4K video. In addition, it’s enabled for Wi-Fi 6, though both these phones can update to the same iOS 16.1.1. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is also more durable than the X as it is protected with a ceramic shield.
