    I bought a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL in ‘Premium’ condition. Visually, the phone was in perfect condition, but unfortunately it had a problem with Google Wallet: contactless payments wouldn’t work. After numerous checks (Play Protect, Play Integrity, locked bootloader, system updates, testing with multiple cards and Google support), it emerged that the device was unable to complete the security check (attestation) required by Google Wallet to enable NFC payments. Cards were added correctly, but contactless payments were impossible. Fortunately, the returns process with Back Market was quick and easy. I hope that testing this functionality will be included in the checks carried out on refurbished devices, as Google Wallet is an essential feature for many users.

    I received it on Monday 15 June 2026. The delivery was quick – even earlier than expected. It wasn’t until Friday that I was able to switch to the new mobile; so far, everything’s going well – the phone is exactly the quality I asked for (excellent). 1. No scratches or signs of wear, 2. I’ve noticed it charges a bit slowly; I think that’s because it’s adapting to the smart charging feature I’ve activated. The battery health is at 92 per cent; I think that’s more than fine, although I’d expected it to be at 100 per cent given the ‘excellent’ refurbished grade I bought – but anyway, 92 per cent is practically new. 3. I feel it gets a bit warm, but that’s because I’ve been using it quite a lot, testing out everything it can do, and with this weekend’s heatwave on top of that, I reckon it’s only to be expected. (I’ve also read that this is typical of Pixel phones and the Tensor processor they use.) 4. The camera is brilliant (that’s actually why I bought it in the first place). 5. It boots up really quickly, and the apps run smoothly. I’ll keep testing it further and then update this review. For now, I’m very happy with my purchase of the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
