    The appliance complies with the description and, so far, no problems have arisen. My concern relates to the insurance extension taken out at the time of purchase. I sent the insurer a request to change the insurance holder, as the appliance was a gift for my daughter. I've had no response. So I'm going to cancel the insurance and hope that this D40 doesn't have any problems.

    I bought the lens for a present but before handing it over I tried it out. It seemed perfect to me. The only negative note was the packaging: it was wrapped in paper and shockproof plastic but there was neither the bag that usually contains the lens nor its original box, just a standard cardboard shipping box.

    After testing it for 3/4 weeks, I'm pretty happy with this purchase. The camera is completely undamaged and the lens is intact. It's very useful for portraits (which are my speciality) and it's rather pleasant and intuitive to use (despite a few shortcomings linked to its older model). The battery shows no sign of failing (for the moment, to be seen over time). I arrived with a handy little pouch containing the bare essentials, but I was only given a single battery with the device. Perhaps this is normal and depends on the model and/or brand (sometimes several batteries are supplied to allow alternation). It's worth noting that I had a lot of trouble getting started because some SD cards (too recent to be recognised, that's my assumption) didn't work. I had to go and get a much older one and reformat it. The price is perfectly right for what I use it for and I'm satisfied.
