We decided to buy a refurbished device from BackMarket due to sustainability and recommendations from acquaintances, even though it was more expensive than many current offers. The purchase process was simple and fast. Delivery was even faster. Just one day after ordering, the parcel delivery person rang the doorbell and handed over the securely and neatly packaged parcel. Upon unpacking, we found a device that looked optically as good as new. Unfortunately, it became clear that it was not exactly the device ordered. It was not the German keyboard layout but a Swiss one. Disappointed by this, we returned the device. Unfortunately, no "replacement device" could be sent, which is why we then canceled the purchase. This worked without even the slightest problem. Especially as a first-time buyer, it was a bit frustrating that it turned out this way. But we just assume that this is the exception, especially since positive experiences are also reported by acquaintances.
