The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus were both released at the same time, but the price difference is between £100-£200 (£799 /£899 vs £999) depending if you opt for the 5G capability or not in the S20. However, you don't have to choose based on price since there are great savings on both phones if you go down the refurbished route. And since price is not an issue, the question remains on which phone is right for you, read on to discover the answers you're looking for.
Galaxy S20 – smaller, but still powerfulProbably the biggest difference between the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20 Plus is the size. The smaller Galaxy S20 has a 6.2-inch screen, which is hardly small, but the S20 Plus is 6.7 inches. Both phones have a high-resolution dynamic AMOLED display with a 3,200 by 1,440-pixel resolution. This means that the smaller S20 will have a slightly sharper picture. The S20 also has the same 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage as the S20 Plus.
Another similarity is the processors, all Galaxy S20 smartphones have a Qualcomm snapdragon 865 processor, and the cameras consist of a triple-lens 12 MP camera, plus 3x zoom at the rear and a 10 MP at the front.
Galaxy S20 Plus – a great screen and a few extrasSo, we’ve already mentioned the screen size, and it will make a big difference if you watch a lot of videos or play a lot of games. This also means the overall size and weight of the phone is greater. What else does the S20 Plus have to offer? Well, better battery life for starters. The S20 has a 4,000 mAh battery, while the S20 Plus has a 4,500 mAh battery, so we’re talking an extra couple of hours of screen or talk time. The S20 Plus also offers a slight improvement to the camera with a time-of-flight sensor which means your portrait mode is slightly sharper. The S20 Plus is also equipped with mmWave technology, so it can offer the fastest 5G service.
Not so different after allAs with all mobile phones, the final choice will simply be down to what you prefer. When it comes it the Galaxy S20 or S20 Plus, they aren’t all that different. The S20 Plus offers a slight camera tweak, a bigger screen, longer battery life, and potentially faster service depending on where you live. If those things make your heart flutter, then go for it. Otherwise, stick with the Galaxy S20. You won’t go far wrong.
