    The Thinkpad P52 is indeed an excellent machine and the one I received ( sn PF 13N4L6) refurbished by BTech was in perfect external condition. The problems started as soon as I switched it on: the battery was at a low level and I tried to recharge it by plugging in the charger supplied. Charging didn't work properly (numerous intermittent cuts), so I decided to remove the battery to check for any contact problems caused by transport. When I restarted the machine, I realised that it had 'lost' the date and time information, a common occurrence on older machines with a weak or dead CMOS battery. Curious for a refurbished and tested PC, isn't it? On opening the rear cover, I noticed that one of the battery wires (the black one) was not connected. What's more, the CMOS battery didn't look like a new part to me (there was a piece of black tape around it???). After ordering (Amazon.fr) and changing the famous battery, this problem was solved. As for the battery charging problem, I had a ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock with its compatible charger (20V - 130W) instead of the 170W I'd received but which had obviously broken down. With this new charger, everything works fine. So I'm wondering whether the machine was properly tested and shipped with the accessories used. I obviously have the faulty parts in my possession and have attached a photo of the CMOS battery with its black wire disconnected.

    The device is very good, like new. The only major downside is that it doesn't have everything that was advertised. For example, it doesn't have a card reader (or I couldn't find one...?) even though it's advertised as having an SDXC card reader. On the other hand, it has a touchscreen that it wasn't supposed to have, which I'm afraid is of no use to me.
