Samsung Galaxy Note 9 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Comparison

Should you buy the Galaxy Note 9 or Note 10?

Trying to decide between buying a refurbished Note 9 vs Note 10? Well, the good news is that this is a pretty easy choice—at least in our opinion. Since the Note 9 is more than 2 years old now, you probably won’t be getting any more software updates from Samsung. Yes, you’ll still get security patches, but your phone won’t be “modernized” any further. And speaking of modernization, we prefer the Note 10 because this phone just feels so much more futuristic than the Note 9.

Note 9 vs Note 10: screen, design, and still more about software updates

The Note 10 has a screen that flows off the curved edges of the device like a waterfall. And yes, although the Note 9 also has a curved display, it just doesn’t feel as well integrated into the overall design of the phone when compared to the Note 10. And going back to the topic of software updates, you can expect the Note 10 to receive the newest version of Android OS well into 2022, and security patches for many more years after that.

Note 9 vs Note 10: more wins for the Note 10, but the Note 9 has more battery life

Don’t think that the advantages of the Note 10 vs Note 9 are limited to just design and software updates: since the Note 10 is a full year newer than the Note 9, you can expect a sizable improvement in other technical departments such as processor and camera performance. But the Note 9 does have one unexpected advantage: believe it or not, the Note 9 has a bigger battery at 4,000mAh vs 3,500mAh in the Note 10. This should give the Note 9 approximately 1-2 hours of additional browsing time, but it also results in it being thicker and not feeling nearly as sleek as the Note 10. The Note 9 also comes with a headphone jack, which is absent on the Note 10. Regardless, we would still suggest buying a refurbished Note 10 vs Note 9 since the 10 just looks and feels so much more modern. But the refurbished Note9 also isn’t a bad choice if you specifically want a phone with more battery life.
